Warminster Police announces new officer hire, detective promotion

The Warminster Township Police Department announced the hiring of Officer Jonathan Trego and the promotion of Officer Nathan Voytko to Detective, reflecting the department’s continued growth and commitment to serving the community with excellence.

Voytko is a graduate of Quakertown High School and Bloomsburg University, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. He began his career with the Warminster Township Police Department in 2008 and attended the Montgomery County Police Academy.

Over the past 17 years, Voytko has demonstrated unwavering dedication to protecting and serving the community, according to a news release.

He has taken on key leadership roles within the department, including serving as a Field Training Officer mentoring new recruits and contributing to the Department’s Accreditation Program. Voytko resides locally with his wife, Jeanette, and their three children. In his new role, he brings extensive training and experience to the responsibilities of Warminster Police Detective.

Trego graduated from Daniel Boone High School in June 2024 before enlisting in the Army National Guard as a Combat Engineer on August 20, 2024. He successfully completed his training on March 14, 2025, demonstrating discipline and a strong commitment to service, according to a news release.

Continuing his dedication to public safety, Trego began the Temple Police Academy in October 2025 and graduated in March 2026, marking another significant milestone in his pursuit of a law enforcement career.

He looks forward to selflessly serving the Warminster community for many years to come, according to the township.

“I am proud to welcome Officer Jonathan Trego to the Warminster Township Police Department and to announce the well-earned promotion of Officer Nathan Voytko to Detective,” said Chief James Donnelly III, in a news release. “These milestones reflect the continued growth and evolution of our department as we strengthen our ability to serve and protect the Warminster community.”

Donnelly said Trego brings a strong foundation and fresh perspective to the team, while Voytko has consistently demonstrated the initiative, professionalism, and investigative skill that this new role demands.

“I am confident both will make meaningful contributions that enhance public safety and deepen our connection to the community we serve,” Donnelly said.

The addition of Trego and the promotion of Voytko underscore the department’s ongoing investment in building a strong, skilled, and community-focused police force, according to a news release.
