Sammar Khan gets 10-30 years for killing husband at Bristol Wharf
Sammar Khan was sentenced today, Tuesday, September 30, 2025, to 10 to 30 years in state prison for the shooting death of her husband, Faisal Iqbal, at the Bristol Borough Wharf.
Khan, 42, of Levittown, appeared before Common Pleas Judge Jeffrey L. Finley for sentencing after pleading guilty to third-degree murder on July 9, 2025. She also pleaded guilty to possession of an instrument of crime and recklessly endangering another person.
During the hearing, testimony and evidence were presented asserting that Khan was a victim of domestic abuse at the hands of Iqbal.
Chief Deputy District Attorney Kristin M. McElroy addressed the court on the issue, stating that the prosecution was not contesting the existence of domestic violence in the relationship. However, McElroy argued that the alleged abuse did not justify Khan’s actions that day.
The charges stem from an incident on May 30, 2023, when Bristol Borough Police were dispatched to the Bristol Borough Wharf for a report of a shooting. Officers found Khan at the scene with blood on her clothing and located 38-year-old Faisal Iqbal deceased with multiple gunshot injuries.
