Record high voter turnout in Bucks County – Bucks Round-Up – November 6, 2025
Record high voter turnout in Bucks County
The Blue wave in Bucks County on election day was one of the factors in the strongest municipal election turnout in more than 20 years, signaling an increase in voting interest across local races. According to county election data, nearly 239,000 ballots were cast, representing 49.6% of the county’s 481,514 voters that are registered. The numbers far outpace the 42.65% turnout from the 2023 municipal election and the 40.7% recorded in 2021. The lowest turnout this century came in 2013, when just 24.18 percent of voters took part in casting their ballots. While the numbers are still under last November’s presidential turnout of nearly 82%, officials point to renewed local interest in government at the community level. As of early October, Bucks County’s voter registration totals included 192,357 Democrats, 202,658 Republicans, and 85,839 independents or minor-party voters. Democratic numbers for mail-in ballot requested were 53,035, while Republicans requested 27,317 mail-in ballots, another 9,585 mail-in ballots were requested by voters with no political party affiliation.
Township seeks input on parks and open space plan
Middletown Township is asking residents to help shape the future of its parks and recreation system. A draft version of the 2025 Comprehensive Parks, Recreation, Open Space, Greenways & Trails Plan is now open for public review during a 30-day comment period. The plan—an update of the township’s 2005 version—will guide policy decisions for the next fifteen years. It includes proposals to reassess community recreation needs, evaluate current facilities and open spaces, improve maintenance efficiency, and integrate pedestrian and bicycle connections identified in the township’s Multimodal Improvement Plan. Residents can read the draft and complete a feedback survey at Middletownbucks.org.
