Man wanted since 2015 in Buckingham Township stabbing case, police say

Buckingham Township Police are asking for the public’s help locating a township man who has been wanted for more than a decade in connection with a violent assault that investigators said began with a call from a Dunkin location and ended with a stabbing inside a nearby residence.

Police issued a public alert Thursday for Sergio Manuel Carrillo, 32, of the 3600 block of Old Easton Road, who has been wanted since Jan. 30, 2015, on multiple charges including two counts of aggravated assault, and misdemeanor charges of simple assault, possessing instruments of crime, prohibited offensive weapons, terroristic threats, and two counts of reckless endangerment, and summary harassment, according to court records.

Authorities said the charges stem from an incident reported shortly before 11 p.m. Jan. 29, 2015, when officers were dispatched to the Dunkin Donuts along Route 313 and Old Easton Road for a report of a man attempting to stab another person.

When police arrived, an employee told officers there was no disturbance and no suspect matching the caller’s description at the store, according to the affidavit.

About an hour later, the same caller contacted police again and directed officers to a nearby residence behind the Dunkin location, where they said the assault had actually occurred.

Investigators then located the victim, who had a deep laceration on the top of his head, a swollen bump on his forehead and a cut lip, police said. He was transported to Doylestown Hospital, where doctors treated the head injury with seven staples, according to the complaint.

According to investigators, the victim told police he had been asleep when Carrillo entered his room and struck him in the head with a large glass pitcher used for beverages before threatening to kill him.

During the altercation, police said Carrillo attempted to stab both the victim and the victim’s brother with a large kitchen knife, but the knife handle broke as the victims shut a door to protect themselves.

Police said Carrillo then fled the residence before officers arrived. Investigators later located a Guatemalan passport bearing Carrillo’s name inside the home, which helped identify him as the suspect, the affidavit states.

Authorities attempted to locate Carrillo by contacting his cell phone carrier and checking known addresses, including a residence on Old Easton Road in Doylestown, but were unable to find him, investigators said.

A warrant for Carrillo’s arrest was issued through Magisterial District Court 07-3-01 on Jan. 30, 2015, and remains active as police continue efforts to locate him.

Police have not indicated where Carrillo may currently be located and are asking anyone with information to contact Buckingham Township Police.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
