Man charged in fatal Bucks overdose arrested by U.S. Marshals

A Philadelphia man accused of supplying the drugs that caused a Bucks County overdose death has been taken into custody, authorities said.

Joseph Vicenty, 39, was arrested Friday by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force at a residence in Northeast Philadelphia, days after Warwick Township Police filed charges tied to the death of 36-year-old Patrick Albright.

Albright was found dead Aug. 2, 2024, inside a bedroom at his home along the 1900 block of Heather Circle in Jamison, Warwick Township, according to investigators.

Police said he was discovered kneeling beside his bed with his head inside a trash can. First responders pronounced him dead at the scene.

Earlier that same day, medics had been called to the home for Albright, who complained of abdominal pain. He declined transport to a hospital, reportedly fearing doctors would amputate his left arm, which police later described as severely infected.

According to the investigation, Albright had a history of opioid use and had relapsed the year prior following a serious motorcycle crash. Family members told police he had remained inside the home for several days leading up to his death and had recently sought money to pay a drug debt.

Detectives recovered suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia from the residence. An autopsy later determined Albright died from a combination of fentanyl and xylazine. Although his arm showed signs of infection, authorities said it was not the cause of death and had not progressed to a life-threatening condition.

Police said their investigation traced Albright’s activity to repeated trips between his home and the Kensington section of Philadelphia, an area known for open-air drug sales. A review of phone records revealed dozens of contacts between Albright and a number investigators later linked to Vicenty.

Authorities allege that additional electronic evidence and location data show Vicenty supplied the drugs that resulted in Albright’s fatal overdose.

Vicenty was arraigned the same day charges were filed and is facing multiple felonies, including drug delivery resulting in death, along with misdemeanor counts such as involuntary manslaughter.

He was committed to the Bucks County Correctional Center in lieu of $1 million bail. Court records indicate he did not have an attorney listed as of the latest filing.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
