Bucks County Sheriff’s Office and Joe Hand Boxing Gym announce youth partnership
FEASTERVILLE, PA – (July 29, 2025) – The Bucks County Sheriff’s Office Police Athletic League (PAL) program and the renowned Joe Hand Boxing Gym today announced an innovative partnership to launch a new youth boxing program. This collaborative initiative provides a positive, structured environment for young people in Bucks County, fostering discipline, confidence, and self-esteem through the sport of boxing – all while promoting positive interaction between youth and law enforcement.
The announcement was made at an event held at the state-of-the-art Joe Hand Boxing Gym facility in Feasterville, attended by local officials, community leaders, and program participants. The boxing program marks the inaugural initiative for the newly established Bucks County Sheriff’s Office PAL program which is funded without taxpayer funds by a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit, including support from the Penn Community Bank Foundation.

The Joe Hand Boxing Gym, founded by retired Philadelphia police detective and boxing promoter Joe Hand Sr., has a rich history of empowering individuals through boxing and fitness. Since its relocation to a new 6,000 sq. ft. facility in 2020, the gym has expanded its focus to support individuals facing unique challenges, while maintaining its core commitment to community engagement.

Sessions for the PAL program began earlier this month for co-ed youth ages 11-17, with classes offered twice weekly. Each class session includes 15 participants from schools across Bucks County to ensure personalized attention and a focus on fundamental skill development in a safe, non-contact or controlled-contact environment.
