Warrington man charged with DUI, illegal firearm possession after liquor store stop, police say

A Warrington man is facing felony and misdemeanor charges after police said he drove under the influence and was found with a loaded handgun despite having a revoked concealed carry permit.

Joshua B. Khoury, 54, of the 2200 block of Matts Way, was charged Feb. 22 with felony firearms not to be carried without a license and misdemeanor DUI, according to a criminal complaint filed by Warrington Township Police.

Police said officers were dispatched around 11:08 a.m. to the Wine and Spirits store at 306 Easton Road for a report of a possible intoxicated driver. A caller reported a male who stumbled into the store, purchased alcohol and left in a black SUV, according to the affidavit.

An officer located a black Land Rover traveling north on Easton Road and observed the vehicle jerk within its lane and operate without rear lighting, police alleged. The driver, alleged to be Khoury, was stopped at Anderson and Matts ways.

Police alleged Khoury showed signs of impairment, including the odor of alcohol and glassy, bloodshot eyes, and was unsteady on his feet. According to the complaint, he refused standardized field sobriety testing and later refused chemical testing.

During an inventory search of the vehicle, officers allegedly located a Glock 20 10mm handgun loaded with 15 rounds in the magazine, along with two additional loaded magazines in a case.

Police further alleged that a driver’s license check revealed Khoury’s Pennsylvania concealed carry permit had been revoked Dec. 3, 2025, making him ineligible to carry a concealed firearm.

Khoury is free on $5,000 unsecured bail ahead of a March 23 preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Stacy Wertman.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
