Upper Makefield welcomes Township Manager Gregg Schuster
Upper Makefield’s new Township Manager Gregg Schuster had a full schedule from day one after the Board of Supervisors welcomed him August 5, 2025, following a months-long search.
Gregg brings to the job more than 15 years of experience, having served as Township Manager in Warminster and Pocono Townships and as interim manager for many other municipalities. He holds an MBA from the University of Connecticut and a bachelor’s degree from Lehigh University. He is a member of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) for local government professionals and has served on multiple committees for them. The Board highlighted his experience and reputation for budget development, strategic planning, emergency management and community engagement.
In accepting his new role, Mr. Schuster thanked the Board, saying, “It’s a pleasure and honor to be here tonight. Each municipality is unique and has their own challenges. Mostly what I’ve found is they are all full of great people just trying to do the right thing, whether it be residents, boards or professionals. I look forward to getting to know all of you, and getting out into the community… I hope that I can bring my experience here and I look forward to working with the Board, the community and everyone else. I’m here to help.”
Gregg has begun working with the Mt. Eyre community to assist with the ongoing recovery from the jet fuel release from the Energy Transfer pipeline. He is also learning about the stormwater issues facing the Township, starting work on the 2026 budget, and kicking off several initiatives. Gregg invites anyone to reach out to him with any questions or concerns.
