Under Trump, Israel knows America has its back
I am always puzzled when my fellow Jewish people state that they hate President Trump, because when it comes to supporting Israel, there hasn’t been another president in American history who comes close to Donald J. Trump. Unlike previous presidents who hesitated and made empty promises, Trump has acted decisively and unapologetically in his support for Israel and Jewish people.
During Trump’s first presidency, he made it clear that the United States would fully support our greatest ally in the Middle East. In 2018, he did what every president before him refused to do: He moved the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem and officially recognized it as Israel’s capital. Many political pundits warned it would cause chaos. They were wrong. Instead, it sent a powerful message to the world that America stands by the Middle East’s only true democracy.
Trump’s pro-Israel legacy doesn’t stop there. He secured the historic Abraham Accords, forging peace between Israel and several Arab nations after decades of hostility. Presidents from both parties had tried and failed to achieve this goal. Trump was able to get it accomplished, proving that strength and clear leadership, not endless concessions, bring results.
He also recognized Israel’s control over the Golan Heights, a strategic area that is vital to Israel’s security. A state department spokesman during Trump’s first term stated that Israel was able to gain control of the territory because of the Syrian aggression aimed at Israel’s destruction. He withdrew from the catastrophic Obama-Biden Iran nuclear deal, reinstated tough sanctions, and stood firmly against a regime determined to see Israel’s destruction.
Under Trump, Israel has always known America has its back. There was clear communication, consistent actions, and mutual alignment between our countries. Joe Biden and other Democratic politicians, on the other hand, have caved to pressure from the far Left, wavered in their support, and reopened the door to appeasing Iran and other anti-Jewish and anti-American entities. The difference is night and day. Biden’s weak posture towards Israel is most likely what contributed to the October 7 massacre near the Gaza Strip.
During the Biden administration, antisemitism became more acceptable among American elites. College campuses all over the country were unsafe for Jewish students, especially in Democrat-run states. It is also becoming clearer to parents that the radical National Education Association (which donates almost exclusively to Democrats) caters to the pro-Palestine movement, having severed ties with the very liberal yet pro-Israel Anti-Defamation League.
Now that Trump is back in the White House, Israel once again has the strongest ally it has ever known. His administration quickly put an end to radical pro-Palestinian and anti-American demonstrations on college campuses. He has and still is brokering high-stakes ceasefire proposals that Israel has accepted. America has never had a more pro-Israel president. The actions his administration has taken will make America and Israel safer places for Jewish people.
