Trenton man wanted for alleged assault on officer, and high speed chase
Falls Township police are searching for 39-year-old Shawn Wolfe of Trenton following a dangerous early-morning encounter that escalated into a high-speed pursuit. Around 1 a.m. Sunday, a township officer approached Wolfe in a BMW parked outside the Wawa on West Trenton Avenue, where marijuana was reportedly visible on Wolfe’s lap. A tag check revealed the vehicle’s temporary registration belonged to a truck. When the officer attempted to detain him, Wolfe allegedly resisted, prompting the use of a stun gun — which failed. According to police, Wolfe reversed into the officer with the car door before fleeing the scene with a passenger. The BMW then reportedly hit speeds of 160 mph on Route 13 and Route 1 before officers suspended the pursuit for public safety as Wolfe crossed into New Jersey. The officer was not injured. Wolfe faces multiple felony charges, including aggravated assault on law enforcement and fleeing police.
Weatherization program offers relief for income-qualified Bucks residents
As energy costs continue to squeeze household budgets, the Bucks County Opportunity Council is encouraging residents to apply for its weatherization assistance program. CEO Erin Lukoss, speaking on WBCB’s Upwards with Chris Ermer, outlined how the program provides free energy audits and contractor services aimed at improving home efficiency. “We look for places where air leaks out or hot air leaks inside,” Lukoss explained. The upgrades, which can include insulation and sealing, help lower utility bills while also boosting business for local contractors. The program is available to income-eligible residents across the county.
Township’s purchase of country club generating seven-figure revenue
Northampton Township’s 2019 acquisition of the Northampton Valley Country Club is generating copious revenue. At a recent board meeting, Supervisor Barry Moore reported that annual golf revenues have surged 52%, from $1.7 million to over $2.5 million. Golf rounds have climbed from 40,000 to 55,000 per year, and event bookings are also on the rise. Wedding venue reservations for the Northampton and Crystal Ballrooms have increased 35% since June. Township leaders say the success demonstrates how strategic municipal investments can generate long-term revenue and support local economic activity.
