Storm hits Warminster
In the late afternoon of June 19, 2025, while many in our community were celebrating Freedom Day, a damaging wind and rainstorm pummeled Warminster and the surrounding vicinity.
The extremely strong winds brought trees and tree branches that in turn knocked down PECO power lines around town that plunged large areas of Warminster into a power blackout. This threatened the safety of our citizens, our businesses and the traveling public.
Our firefighters, police officers and public works employees exhibited invaluable dedication and professionalism during the event, in the aftermath and the recovery. The problems they confronted included:
• Generator fires
• Malfunctioning traffic signals
• Care facilities without power
Through it all, their prime concern remained the safety of the Warminster community.
The Board of Supervisors are very proud and extremely grateful to these employees, who set a high example for all of us. I am glad to have an opportunity to express my thanks and appreciation to these employees publicly.
