Speak Your Piece: Gordon pleads guilty, avoiding possible death penalty

A 27-year-old man pleaded guilty in Bucks County Court to a triple homicide, attempted murder, assault on police officers, and a carjacking.

Andre Gordon, Jr. received three consecutive life sentences on Wednesday for the horrific rampage on March 16, 2024 that claimed the lives of three family members in their Levittown homes. He fled to Trenton after the murders and was captured hours later.

With a guilty plea, Gordon avoids trial and a possible death penalty while the survivors are spared from testifying. District Attorney Jennifer Schorn earlier said her office would seek the death penalty.

Gordon admitted to shooting the 25-year-old mother of his two daughters, Taylor Daniel, with the children looking on. The assault also ended the lives of his stepmother, Karen Murphy Gordon, 52, and his half-sister Kera Gordon, 13. And he pled guilty to the attempted murder of his father, Andre Gordon, Sr. All three of the deceased were killed soon after Gordon burst into the homes of his mother and half sister, Daniel’s, and his father’s.

According to court documents, Gordon has been undergoing mental-health treatment at Norristown State Hospital following his arrest in 2024. It is not known where he will serve his multiple life sentences.

Side note: Bucks County has a special court unit handling incidents and crimes committed by individuals struggling with mental illness. (Gordon’s case is not one of them.) According to Schorn, many troubled individuals have encounters with law enforcement at a very young age. Stay tuned more on this with the district attorney on an upcoming Speak Your Piece episode on WBCB 1490 AM.
