Promoting civility and respect for all

Dear CBSD Community,

Recently, our school board reviewed and updated several policies related to nondiscrimination, bullying, and cyberbullying. While these updates did not introduce significant changes, it was important to ensure our policies remain current. Regularly examining our policies is standard practice and essential for the district.

Policies provide a framework, but it is the people within our district who bring these values to life. We are proud of our dedicated employees and students who take their responsibilities seriously – enabling the delivery of academics, nourishment, safety, and joy to 17,000 students across 23 schools from September through June.

These efforts are grounded in care and compassion. Central Bucks School District strives to be a place free of discrimination based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or any other personal attribute. We aim to create a safe environment for all students, staff, and visitors, where trusted adults are available to support anyone in need.

In light of recent national events, including the tragic loss of two Israeli Embassy staffers in Washington, D.C., we are reminded of the importance of standing together in the face of hate and reaffirming our commitment to civility, respect, and unity. Such moments underscore our shared responsibility to uphold the values that make our schools safe and inclusive for all.

As the school year winds down, we ask our students, staff, and community members to finish strong by respecting, supporting, and acting civilly toward one another. This is our mandate as a district that strives to treat everyone with dignity and ensure everyone feels they belong.

To our students: make good decisions, behave kindly, and celebrate responsibly. We know you are excited for summer, and we want to ensure you reach it safely and happily. To our community members: we rely on your passionate and productive involvement to sustain and grow CBSD. Join us in setting an example for the thousands of children and young adults who will inherit the world we are creating.

As we enter Memorial Day weekend, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to those who have served and sacrificed for our country. May this time offer you rest, reflection, and meaningful connection with loved ones.

Together, we can build a stronger, more united Central Bucks that benefits us all.

Sincerely,

Dr. Charles Malone
