Police investigate gunfire in suspected road rage incident on New Falls Road

Bristol Township police are investigating what appears to be a road-rage incident that ended with gunfire Tuesday afternoon in Levittown. Officers were called to New Falls Road near the Indian Creek entry around 1:46 p.m., where a motorcycle and a Volvo sedan had collided. The motorcycle was severely damaged, with its front section split off in the crash. Investigators confirmed a gun had been fired and was recovered at the scene. The motorcyclist, a man, and the Volvo’s driver, a woman, both remained on-site and spoke with police. Middletown Township officers assisted in the investigation. No charges have yet been filed. Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Emilyann Maialetti at 267-812-3024.

Bucks consumer office offers winter energy advice

As colder weather sets in, Bucks County’s Department of Consumer Protection is offering guidance to help residents manage home heating costs. Director Mike Bannon urged homeowners to review their heating contracts and ensure their furnaces are inspected by reputable companies. “If you don’t have a copy of that paper contract, most companies have an online portal,” Bannon said on WBCB’s Upwards with Chris Ermer. He also encouraged residents to check contractor reputations through the county office or the Better Business Bureau, and to compare electric rates at papowerswitch.com.

Bensalem promotes officers, welcomes new firefighter

Bensalem Township honored several members of its Department of Public Safety during a promotion ceremony this week. Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo and Public Safety Director William McVey recognized six police officers and welcomed one new firefighter. Lt. Andrew Zabierowski, a fifteen-year veteran and SWAT team leader, was among those promoted. Sgt. Robert Schwarting and Sgt. Kevin Howard — both K-9 handlers — were also elevated in rank, along with Corporals Patrick Treadwell and Francis Ludovici. New officer Jeremy Smith, a military veteran and recent Temple Police Academy graduate, was officially sworn in. Firefighter MacKenzie Crain, who previously served part-time, joins Bensalem Rescue full time. Township leaders praised all honorees for their service and professionalism.
