NOVA’s Candlelight Tribute for Victims of Crime to take place at Core Creek Park on April 21

(BUCKS COUNTY, Pa.) NOVA, Bucks County’s comprehensive crime victim services agency, invites the community to join in honoring victims of crime, their families, friends, and those who serve them, at a candlelight tribute on April 21 (rain date April 28) from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. at Core Creek Park Boat Ramp, 901 Bridgetown Pike in Langhorne, Pa.  The Gathering and Reception will begin at 6:00 p.m. and the Tribute starts at 6:30 p.m. All are invited to share in this experience. No RSVP is needed to attend this event.

Each year, NOVA holds a Candlelight Tribute for Victims of Crime to honor those affected by violence and to celebrate the many successes of the victims’ rights movement. The Tribute will be a time of healing and awareness featuring reflection, and music. There will also be victim/survivor stories of healing where participants will have the opportunity to honor themselves, a loved one, or a community member who has been the victim of a crime.

There will be an exhibit of victim and survivor artwork, as well as interactive art stations. The closing of the Tribute will feature an optional candlelit walk of intention to honor those impacted by crime.

“This candlelight vigil honors the resilience of victims and survivors and allows us to reflect on the successes organizations like NOVA have been able to achieve in the area of victims’ rights,” Stephanie Shantz, Victim Advocate Coordinator.  “It also is a reminder of the work that needs to be done to prevent crime and violence from happening in our community.”
