‘No Kings’ protest rallies occur across Bucks
‘No Kings’ rallies large and small dotted Bucks County on Saturday. Most prominently, a large group of No Kings sign bearers spent a couple of hours Saturday outside the Middletown office of Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (R-01), who is up for reelection; and in Quakertown, a group of demonstrators supported what they called the “Quakertown Five,” several teens arrested in a February 20 student walkout against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Like last year’s No Kings events protesting President Donald Trump and his policies, Saturday’s rallies were held in Bensalem, Morrisville, Newtown, New Hope-Lambertville, Doylestown, Perkasie, and Quakertown. Demonstrations in the county were without incident, but violence erupted and arrests were made in several cities on the West Coast.

Washington Crossing re-enactors to join the 250th celebration parade
Washington Crossing Historic Park is planning something special for the July 3 Semiquincentennial Parade in Philadelphia. In full regalia, the park’s Fife and Drum Corps, along with General George Washington (portrayed by Bucks County’s John Godzieba) and re-enactors from the Fifth Pennsylvania Regiment will march in the parade alongside one of the park’s large Durham boats. Located along the Delaware River in Upper Makefield Township, Washington Crossing Historic Park marks the departure site of Washington’s Christmas night crossing of the Delaware, a military maneuver that was a turning point in the American Revolution. The Philadelphia Wawa Welcome America Salute to Independence Semiquincentennial Parade is the largest professional 250th parade in the nation.
