Multiple police agencies respond to reported shooting in Doylestown Borough

A large police response unfolded Tuesday night in Doylestown Borough after emergency crews were dispatched for a reported gunshot wound and officers located two people at gunpoint behind a residential property.

Emergency responders were called around Tuesday evening around 11 p.m. to Clear Springs Court near North Main Street, Lacey Avenue, Union Street, and Doyle Street for a reported gunshot victim, according to initial emergency dispatch reports. 

Multiple police departments responded, including Doylestown Township Police, Central Bucks Regional Police, Warrington Township Police and Buckingham Township Police.

Authorities closed roads in the area while officers searched the scene. Witness reports from the scene indicated officers issued verbal commands for individuals to surrender during the response.

Two people were eventually located in an alleyway nearby and were taken into custody at gunpoint and placed in handcuffs, according to on-scene reports.

It was not immediately clear Tuesday night whether anyone was injured in the incident or if the reported gunshot wound was confirmed. There was no EMS presence on scene at the time of apprehension of suspects.

Police remained in the area as the investigation continued. Additional information has not yet been released by authorities.
