McCormick backs Garrity in PA governor’s race
Adding to their list, the Garrity for PA campaign announced on Monday morning that it has received the endorsement of Sen. Dave McCormick in the race for governor of Pennsylvania.
“I am proud to endorse Stacy Garrity for Governor. Politicians make promises, but leaders keep them, and that’s what we’ll get when Stacy Garrity is governor,” said McCormick.
“When Stacy Garrity ran for Treasurer, she promised to return millions in unclaimed property, reform the mismanaged state pension system, and expand and strengthen Pennsylvania’s 529 college savings program – and she did. Now Stacy Garrity is running for governor to fight overspending, keep taxes down, and restore commonsense values to government – and she will.”
The junior senator heaped praise on Garrity for her career in the military.
“Stacy Garrity knows something about keeping her word. When she was sworn into the Army Reserve, Stacy promised to protect and defend the Constitution and to keep our country safe. She kept her word, from the war zone in Iraq to her service stateside. In Iraq, Stacy Garrity earned two Bronze Stars and the Legion of Merit while amassing a perfect record overseeing a detention camp for enemy combatants. Both sides – ours and the detainees she guarded – called her the “Angel of Desert” because she was tough, smart, fair, and showed the world America’s compassion and honor,” continued McCormick.
“I can’t think of a moment in our history where Pennsylvania has been more in need of the talent, focus, and honesty of someone like Stacy Garrity. The stakes are high: Pennsylvania is still lagging, and this moment calls for change.”
“Help is on the way in the form of a true patriot, an accomplished businesswoman, and decorated Iraq War veteran named Stacy Garrity,” concluded McCormick.
Garrity said she was honored by McCormick’s endorsement and added she is looking foward to working with him

“I look forward to working with Senator McCormick in the weeks and months to come, to defeat Josh Shapiro, and work hand-in-hand with him to begin Pennsylvania’s turnaround. Pennsylvanians need a governor who will work with our congressional delegation to deliver for the people of Pennsylvania, and I am excited about the opportunity to work with Senator McCormick on behalf of the 13 million Pennsylvanians who deserve strong leadership and accountability from their elected officials.”
McCormick’s endorsement joins a list of prominent Pennsylvania Republicans who are backing Garrity’s campaign, including Reps. Scott Perry (R-10), John Joyce (R-13) and Mike Kelly (R-16), along with Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday as well as Auditor General Tim DeFoor. Garrity also got the nod from President Donald Trump.
