Man sentenced to county jail for statutory sexual assault of child under thirteen
A Hilltown Township man was sentenced to eleven to 23 months in Bucks County jail after pleading guilty to felony statutory sexual assault of a child under thirteen years old in Warrington Township in January 2016.
Gary R. McCunney, 67, of Canary Road, formerly of East Fifth Street in Lansdale Borough, also pleaded guilty last week to a felony count of indecent assault on a person under thirteen and misdemeanor corruption of minors, according to court records.
Prosecutors withdrew a felony charge of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse against McCunney at a preliminary hearing.
The Warrington Police Department Criminal Investigation Division uncovered the underage sex crimes committed by McCunney.
As part of his sentence, McCunney will be under sex offender supervision and is to have no contact with the victim. He waived his time served credit, having been jailed on ten percent of $300,000 cash bail since his arrest, and will undergo evaluation by the state Sexual Offender Assessment Board.
All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
