JK12 Foundation donates proceeds from Joey Kay Memorial Race to NOVA

(BUCKS COUNTY, Pa.) — NOVA, Bucks County’s comprehensive crime victim services agency, announced it received a $5,000 donation from the JK12 Foundation (https://www.jk12foundation.com), representing proceeds from the Joey Kay Memorial Race held last June at Bridgeport Speedway in Bridgeport, N.J. The event honors the life and legacy of Joseph Kay, who died in 2024 at the age of 35. Kay was a dirt track competitor with the Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series, and his family established the race as a way to celebrate his life and memory. Dirt track racers and supporters from across the region participated, bringing the racing community together to honor Kay’s lasting impact.

The JK12 Foundation was established to continue Kay’s legacy of joy, kindness and connection by supporting meaningful causes in the community. “NOVA holds a very special place in my heart,” said Rachel Kay, Joey Kay’s widow.  “They provide critical advocacy and support for victims and families facing unimaginable circumstances, and supported me and our community as we navigated every step of the criminal process following Joey’s passing. Their compassion, guidance, and unwavering presence carried our family and friends through one of the most difficult times of our lives. To have our foundation’s first donation go to such an impactful organization feels deeply personal and profoundly meaningful.”

“NOVA is deeply grateful to the JK12 Foundation for their generous donation from the Joey Kay Memorial Race,” said Penny Ettinger, Executive Director, NOVA. “This meaningful contribution will help support NOVA’s vital services, including advocacy, counseling, and resources for individuals and families impacted by trauma. We sincerely thank the Kay family and the JK12 Foundation for honoring Joey’s legacy by investing in healing, hope, and support within our community.”
