Jefferson Health nurses support 450-plus families with Thanksgiving meal donations

Nurses from across Jefferson Health joined together recently to help support more than 450 families in need during the holiday season.

Nurses from Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, Jefferson Bucks Hospital, Jefferson Frankford Hospital, Jefferson Abington Hospital, Jefferson Einstein Montgomery Hospital and Jefferson Lansdale Hospital collected a variety of ingredients needed to make a full and festive holiday meal, according to a news release.

The items were sorted and donated to Lutheran Settlement House in preparation for their Thanksgiving basket distribution.

Lutheran Settlement House is expected to support more than 450 families through this year’s giveaway. This is Jefferson Health’s eighth year supporting this annual holiday tradition, according to the release.

Lutheran Settlement House is a nonprofit that provides counseling, food, housing support and education to survivors of domestic violence, families experiencing homelessness, older adults, and those who are food insecure.
