Hogan unveils energy relief bills for Pennsylvania residents – Bucks Round-Up – October 29, 2025
Hogan unveils energy relief bills for Pennsylvania residents
State Rep. Joe Hogan (R-Bucks) is rolling out two new proposals aimed at easing the impact of rising energy costs on Pennsylvania households. The first bill would adjust the state’s Property Tax/Rent Rebate program, allowing participants to deduct utility expenses, such as electricity, water, and gas from their income calculations. That change could make more seniors and low-income residents eligible for rebates or increase the amount they receive. A companion measure would add a supplemental energy rebate of up to $250 to help offset last year’s heating and power bills. Hogan said the goal is to offer practical relief while broader energy market challenges remain unresolved. “Energy costs are through the roof,” Hogan said, “and this will provide relief for many in our community and across Pennsylvania.” Both bills await formal introduction in Harrisburg.
Warrington man charged in road rage shooting
A 41-year-old Warrington man faces attempted murder and other serious charges after an alleged road rage shooting Monday evening. Police say Christopher Corbi opened fire on a woman’s car along the Newtown Bypass, striking her in the wrist, then followed her to her Middletown Township neighborhood and shot again. Corbi was taken into custody shortly afterward near the Newtown-Lower Makefield border, and officers recovered the suspected firearm from his vehicle. Middletown Police Chief Joe Bartorilla called the victim “very fortunate that things didn’t end fatally.” She was treated and released from a local hospital. Corbi is being held at the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10% of $1 million bail.
