Follow-up info on CB Farmers Market, how you can help

Dear CBSD Community,

Earlier this month, I shared information about local and regional organizations that offer food assistance. To continue supporting neighbors in need, I wanted to highlight our own CB Farmers Market at Barclay Elementary School, typically held on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month.

Since 2019, the CB Farmers Market has provided fresh food, milk, eggs, produce, and dry goods to families from all 23 schools across the district. Thanks to volunteers and donations, each market distributes about 10,000 pounds of food to 200 CB families, including more than 500 children. In Bucks County, nearly 10% of children are food insecure, with an estimated 1,200 in CB.

If your family could benefit from food assistance, you are welcome at our Farmers Market. You must pre-register to receive a membership card and a time slot for pick up. You can learn about the program on the CB Farmers Market webpage

How You Can Help

Our Farmers Market depends on the generosity of our community. You can donate food items, drop off gift cards at your child’s school, or volunteer as a “grocery buddy.” Details are available on the CB Farmers Market webpage

Our collective commitment to our children is a bond that connects us all. On behalf of the district, I am grateful to everyone at Barclay and our CB staff, students, and community members who help organize, stock, and operate our Farmers Market. It is an incredible and life-sustaining effort powered by compassion and community.

Sincerely,

Charles Malone, Ed.D.
Substitute Superintendent
