DelVal student charged after stolen phone traced from Philadelphia to Atlanta

A Delaware Valley University student has been charged after police said he stole a classmate’s cell phone and was later found with the device more than 700 miles away.

According to details released earlier this month by Central Bucks Regional Police, the theft occurred on Sept. 23, 2025 at Delaware Valley University in New Britain Borough. Investigators said the phone was quickly tracked to Philadelphia, then later to Atlanta, Georgia, where the suspect — a 21-year-old male from Covington, Georgia — was located in possession of it.

Police have charged the student with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. A criminal complaint has been filed, but the student’s name was withheld by police.
