Bucks County Sheriff Fred Harran named to City & State PA’s 2025 “Fifty Over 50” list

DOYLESTOWN, PA – Bucks County Sheriff Fred Harran has been selected as an honoree for the City & State Pennsylvania 2025 “Fifty Over 50” list. This prestigious list recognizes 50 of the most prominent and accomplished leaders in Pennsylvania over the age of 50, honoring trailblazers in government, business, and media who have made a lasting impact on the Commonwealth.

“I am deeply honored to be included among such a distinguished group of Pennsylvanians,” said Sheriff Harran. “This recognition is a direct reflection of the hard work and professionalism of the deputies and staff at the Bucks County Sheriff’s Office. We remain dedicated to serving our community with integrity and pioneering new ways to ensure public safety for all residents.”

A veteran of nearly 40 years in law enforcement, Sheriff Harran has led a significant modernization of the Sheriff’s Office since taking office. Prior to his election as Sheriff, he served as the Director of Public Safety in Bensalem Township for 16 years. He is nationally recognized for his innovative public safety initiatives, including implementing the first Rapid DNA program in the United States, launching Bucks County’s first Sheriff’s K9 Unit, and expanding mental health co-responder programs to better serve those in crisis.

City & State PA celebrated this year’s honorees at an awards ceremony on Tuesday, October 28 at the Doubletree Hotel in Philadelphia.
